Program Overview:

Green For All, a program of the Dream Corps, works at the intersection of environmental, economic, and racial justice movements to advance solutions to poverty and pollution. Our mission is to build an inclusive clean economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. 


Purpose:

Green For All seeks a Research Intern to support our policy work through research, data analysis, and writing for policy and media impact. This person will work under the Deputy Director of Policy to advance Green For All’s federal policy priorities.

Candidates should have strong research and writing skills and a demonstrated commitment and passion for social and/or environmental justice.  Working knowledge of climate, transportation, clean energy/efficiency, small business, labor or workforce issues are a plus.

  • acceptable submissions include fact sheets, articles, policy briefs, literature reviews, landscape analyses or other selections that demonstrate the applicant’s ability to research complex information and data from a variety of reliable sources and summarize important findings in a compelling and succinct manner 


Research Intern Job Description:

  • Conduct extensive research including academic and peer-reviewed articles, NGO white papers and reports, government reports and databases, and other publicly available research and data as needed
  • Provide analysis and key data points on various topics, including but not limited to clean transportation and mobility, clean energy and home weatherization, inclusive hiring and workforce development, and policies to increase opportunities for BIPOC entrepreneurs in a clean economy   
  • Summarize key findings and draft fact sheets, short reports, web content, and internal policy memos 
  • Procure and analyze data for graphics that clearly communicate one or more of the following: 
  1. environmental and health harms and disparities, 
  2. policy and technology solutions (e.g. electrifying transportation or scaling up inclusive workforce development programs) that address these harms and disparities, and 
  3. the economic and other benefits that will likely result from realizing these solutions. 


Required Skills:

  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Experience with data analysis and presentation of data 
  • Ability to create materials that effectively communicate complex ideas for the media, decisionmakers, and the public
  • Proficient in Google Sheets, Excel or other database software (data visualization software a plus)

 

Compensation:

To ensure their personal financial situations are not a barrier to participation and to compensate them for the value of their work, Interns will be paid at $15/hour on a bi-weekly basis. Hours are flexible and can be arranged based on the Research Intern’s needs. Ideally, the Research Intern would work part-time in the spring (10-20 hours) and full time (35-40 hours) in the summer.
