Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000, Bay Area, California depending on experience and location (range will be adjusted for location)

Purpose of The Position:

Dream Corps is looking for its first-ever data, technology, and systems expert to help identify, establish, and oversee the tools and processes to effectively track progress towards annual and 20-year strategic program goals with an emphasis on promoting cross-collaboration between programs and administrative departments. The director of data and technology will have a proven track record of establishing an org-wide culture of data that centers on equity and justice best practices.

Establish a comprehensive organization-wide strategy when it comes to data, technology, and system needs for the Fundraising, Engagement, and Communications plus the JUSTICE, Green For All, and TECH teams. As part of the leadership team, this position will be a key decision-maker to ensure both short-term and long-term needs of staff are being met from a systems perspective. As the organization quickly grows and pivots, we need to map out and evaluate the success of these databases to hold the organization's data and how our software and tools need to integrate with each other.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of Manager or Director level professional experience in data/technology/systems field
  • Proven commitment and/or deep understanding of centering equity in data practices
  • Experience establishing a company-wide culture of tracking and reporting
  • Cross-departmental collaboration
  • Building systems and procedures from the ground up
  • Experience integrating systems or building APIs
  • CRM and/or AMS software administration experience
  • Familiarity or understanding of programming languages


Preferred Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Proficiency with Salesforce/Salesforce NPSP CRM, ActionKit AMS, Pardot, Google Analytics
  • Proficiency in HTML, SQL, SOQL, CSS, Javascript
  • Experience managing external contractors or stakeholders

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a long-term vision with goals that lead to a culture of data and reporting within the organization (long-term vision/goals)
  • Design a 2022 annual plan for the department - includes goals, strategy, and tactics that build toward the long-term vision (mid-term goals/strategy)
  • Identify high priority/urgent projects and set strategy and tactics (short-term strategy)
  • Project Management and Accountability
  • Supervise projects owned by the systems manager and provide support as needed
  • Hold Dream Corps programs and department teams accountable to data and technology-related processes and procedures
  • Establish a consistent reporting system and schedule that is shared with the department, leadership team, and all staff on data/technology progress, wins, and opportunities. These reports will help track progress toward the program team’s and department’s annual plans/long term goals
  • Be the key decision-maker of existing and new tools and platforms that support program, communication, engagement, and development teams
  • Manage and supervise external contractors
  • Oversee licensing budget and tracking for program/department tools
  • Data Integration Group (DIG)
  • Manage the Data Integration Group (DIG) which includes the systems manager, director of digital engagement, director of membership, and representatives from fundraising and communications
  • Collaborate and sync on cross-departmental projects, strategies, and processes as it relates to data and tools needs
  • Ensure the group serves as a center of excellence to provide support as a centralized resource for program and department staff
  • Work with other members of the Leadership Team to ensure that all work done across the organization is integrated and driven by one strategy
  • Participate in strategic planning at the Dream Corps

Travel: Must be willing and able to travel occasionally (estimated 10%), including for in-person staff meetings and retreats, upon safely resuming in-person travel.

All full-time employees receive Medical, Dental & Vision coverage. Dream Corps pays 100% of premiums for employees, spouses, and dependents. Part-time employees receive 50% coverage. After a 6-month waiting period, employees can contribute to our retirement plan. Currently, Dream Corps offers up to a 5% match. We also offer a flexible spending, a pre-tax program for medical expenses, dependent care expenses, transit expenses, and parking expenses. All full-time Dream Corps employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation time off and 12 days of sick time off over the first year of employment. Part-time employees accrue time off on a prorated basis. In addition to 10 paid holidays, Dream Corps also provides paid time off from December 24th through January 1st each year.
