Salary Range:    $65k-$80k Bay Area, California depending on experience and location (range will be adjusted for location)

Green For All, a program of the Dream Corps, works at the intersection of environmental, economic, and racial justice movements to advance solutions to poverty and pollution. Our mission is to build an inclusive clean economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. 



The Policy and Research Associate will work under the direction of the Green For All Director of Green Jobs and Entrepreneurship to develop, design, and conduct a unique research agenda focusing on Green For All’s issue areas of environmental, economic, and racial justice, with specific knowledge on workforce development and entrepreneurship in the green sector. This position will conduct innovative research and policy analysis to advance Green For All’s advocacy work, collaborate with partner organizations and research entities, and present research findings in compelling visualizations to inform the public, policymakers, and other stakeholders. This position will make recommendations on policy, strategic initiatives, and programmatic operational changes that impact Green For All’s work.


Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and contribute to Green For All’s research agenda - survey Green For All’s campaign needs and the current landscape of existing research to develop a unique research plan to further support Green For All’s various campaigns, centering research on communities of color
  • Monitor policies, conduct research, data collection and analysis related to legislative efforts and campaigns, adapt as needed and report out on impact of the work. Utilize various databases to collect existing data and identify gap areas
  • Communicate - be able to verbally communicate research and findings in a clear and understandable manner and to translate data into compelling written and visual forms. Contribute to the development of reports, fact sheets, blogs, and other materials, and prepare technical comments and testimony for various legislative hearings 
  • Build relationships and collaborate - with academia, NGOs, governmental agencies, and research entities on both sides of the political aisle to strengthen research


  • Must be willing and able to travel occasionally (estimated 5-10%), including for in-person staff meetings and retreats, upon safely resuming in-person travel

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-2 years of experience conducting research and analysis preferably in one or more of the following areas: environmental justice, economic equity, climate change, climate finance, green jobs and workforce development, clean energy, and clean transportation 
  • Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated, able to shift directions quickly when priorities change, and think through problems to come up with innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of research design and methods, including evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience with complex data and statistical analysis, including experience in managing large data sets and experience with tools such as R, Python, Stata, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization, including experience in summarizing and presenting data in compelling visual ways and experience with tools such as GIS, Tableau, etc. 
  • Ability to communicate statistical information clearly for internal and external stakeholders, including the general public
  • Strong writing skills and exceptional communication skills


Preferred Education/Skills/Experiences:

  • Dashboard development, data management, geospatial data analysis, and data storytelling expertise
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with policy analysts, organizers, communications professionals, and other stakeholders to translate user needs and policy requirements to create cohesive data visualization narratives
  • The ideal candidate will not only have research and data expertise but also the interpersonal skills to lead others through change and transition. The ideal candidate is collaborative, personable, and passionate about work, a good listener, has positive and productive communication skills and can translate “tech speak” into layperson terms

All full-time employees receive Medical, Dental & Vision coverage. Dream Corps pays 100% of premiums for employees, their spouse, and dependents. Part-time employees receive 50% coverage. After a 6-month waiting period, employees can contribute to our retirement plan. Currently, Dream Corps offers up to a 5% match. We also offer flexible spending, pre-tax program for medical expenses, dependent care expenses, transit expenses, and parking expenses. All full-time Dream Corps employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation time off and 12 days of sick time off over the first year of employment. Part-time employees accrue time off on a prorated basis. In addition to 10 paid holidays, Dream Corps also provides paid time off from December 24th through January 1st each year.
