Salary Range: $72,000 - $80,000, Bay Area, California depending on experience and location (range will be adjusted for location)

Purpose of The Position:

The Content Associate will play a critical role in the execution of the strategic communications plan for Dream Corps, by creating compelling content that educates, informs, and engages, with a view to building advocacy among key audiences and stakeholders.


Reporting to the Green for All Deputy Director of Communications, the individual will create content across digital and social media channels, in support of thought leadership, advocacy engagement, social media, and other opportunities. This role will be responsible for content calendar creation, copywriting, management of social media channels and posting. Working closely with different programs throughout the organization, content outputs should drive engagement throughout the organizations, culture, behaviors, and values. You will roll up your sleeves and get right to work to build digital first content for multiple channels.


Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Passion and interest in climate justice, economic equity, and racial justice
  • Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, visual communications and technical skills with a marketing and branding mindset
  • High level of creativity, execution, organization, project management, collaboration, and extreme attention to detail and quality
  • Must be able to think critically and creatively. Always thinking about the purpose of content
  • Must understand basic principles of SEO and optimizing content, content development, distribution, measurement and analysis
  • Excel at creatively telling a story in many ways, incorporating video, graphics and media to drive interest and engagement. Must have a vision for stories
  • Have extensive knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and tools
  • Highly collaborative in nature and enjoy working with and developing editorial pieces with team members on a daily basis
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and develop ideas with content contributors
  • Ability to create and manage social media and editorial content calendars
  • Must have a strong understanding of the news, political and environmental landscape


Preferred Education/Skills/Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in social media management, content strategy, or communications
  • 4-year degree in communications, marketing, or related field. A combination of other training or experience may be substituted in lieu of educational requirements
  • Expertise in advocacy - specifically climate-related issues - is a plus
  • A flexible and collaborative working style
  • Easily adapt to changes and shifting priorities of an advocacy organization
  • Juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Highly organized and capable of managing timelines and deliverables
  • You can communicate with diverse groups, work with a multicultural workforce, and bring a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences
  • Expert command of digital and social media tools
  • Multilingual

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand the goal, audience, format, and message of a campaign, and develop engaging copy that is tailored to the platform and the organization's needs
  • Create succinct audience-centric copy and content to drive engagement across digital channels
  • Develop content with strategic seasonality trends and target audience in mind
  • Work across cross-functional teams and programs to ensure cohesive campaigns deliver streamlined messaging across all touch points. Participate in cross-functional team meetings to contribute innovative ideas for content
  • Manage the copy development of digital assets, including web and social media channels
  • Ensure copy follows social media best practices and platform nuances
  • Manage monthly social media calendar, write copy, develop creative and handle channel management and posting
  • Write website copy and blog posts to ensure a cohesive narrative across channels


Must be willing and able to travel occasionally (estimated 10%), including for in-person staff meetings and retreats, upon safely resuming in-person travel.

After a 6-month waiting period, employees can contribute to our retirement plan. Currently, Dream Corps offers up to a 5% match. We also offer a flexible spending, a pre-tax program for medical expenses, dependent care expenses, transit expenses, and parking expenses. All full-time Dream Corps employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation time off and 12 days of sick time off over the first year of employment. Part-time employees accrue time off on a prorated basis. In addition to 10 paid holidays, Dream Corps also provides paid time off from December 24th through January 1st each year.
